Tokubetsu Honjozo designation requires the rice used to be polished to less than 70% (meaning less than 70% of original rice grain remains). A small amount of alcohol can also be added to the sake prior to filtration.
Genshu means the sake is undiluted, and has not had any water added post fermentation to bring the strength down.
Akashi Honjozo Genshu Tokubetsu is made with 60% polished Gohyakumangoku rice. At 19% abv it is fairly full bodied, with a balance of umami and sweeter fruity flavours.

UK delivery is free on orders over £100. For international orders, delivery costs are calculated at checkout based on your destination.

Our prices include UK VAT where applicable. We also show the ex-VAT price alongside the main price, so our trade and export customers can easily see both.

Changed your mind? No problem. You have 14 days from delivery to let us know you'd like to return your order.
