This single grain whisky, bottled at 48% is an Arbikie estate-grown blend typically consisting of winter rye, spring malted barley, and winter wheat. The spirit is copper pot distilled and matured in charred American oak barrels - all on site at the Arbikie Distillery in the Highland region of Scotland. With a farm to bottle production ethic, expect influences of 'salty coastal air, rich loam soil and Arbikie well water'. Using Scottish Rye is extremely unusual, as is their small batch grain distillation style. Rye is the star here - bold and full of flavour, balanced with creamy, maple syrup from the wheat and biscuity, malt notes from the barley.
