Dalmunach 7 Year Old from Blind Summit is a youthful Speyside single malt whisky showcasing the influence of Amontillado sherry. Bottled at a generous 55.4% ABV, it brings together the distillery’s fruity spirit with the drier, nutty and gently savoury character associated with this distinctive style of sherry.
Expect a lively combination of orchard fruit, citrus and fresh malt, joined by toasted almonds, dried fruit, warming spice and a touch of salinity. The higher strength gives the whisky plenty of body and intensity, while a small amount of water may reveal further sweetness and cask character.
Presented in a 50cl bottle, this is an intriguing release for fans of independently bottled Speyside whisky, Amontillado sherry casks and characterful single malts from one of Scotland’s newer distilleries.
