With a history of rum making dating back over 300 years, the Diamond Distillery in Guyana is operated by Demerara Distillers Limited. They are known for producing rum with some of the most interesting distilling equipment in the world (antique and wooden stills of all shapes and sizes).

The spirit for their 21 year old was distilled using their wooden Coffey still and French Savalle stills. A rich and complex Demerara rum.

Staff Tasting Notes

Nose – Initially more closed and restrained than its younger siblings, before disclosing subtle hints of vanilla, prune juice and figs.

Palate – gentle, but as complex as you would expect from a rum of this age. Vanilla and banana combine well with oaky spices early on, before rich prune juice begins to ooze through.
