Relaunching their range in 2018, the 12 year old is now the core flagship malt of Fettercairn Distillery. It has been fully matured in Ex-Bourbon American White Oak barrels.
Fettercairn's stills are unique in the Scotch whisky industry due to the installation of a cooling ring in the 1950s. Water is continuously poured down the outside of the copper stills during distillation. This cooling effect increases reflux, ensuring a particularly light final spirit is produced.
