A hand selected annual limited edition, this is the first release of the Kingsbarns Cambo Collection. A 10 year old, purely matured in shaved, toated, recharred (STR) french oak casks. James, our Head of Marketing and former Kingsbarns Brand Manager, recently tried Cambo at a whisky festival and was particularly impressed by its balance. The STR casks add plenty of depth and deep fruitiness, while the distillery character still shines through, with a soft, sweet creaminess on the palate.
James finds that fully STR matured whiskies can sometimes become dominated by the cask, but Cambo gets the balance just right. A superb addition to the Kingsbarns range and a release well worth picking up.
Kingsbarns Distillery is located on the grounds of the lovingly restored East Newhall farm steading within the grounds of the Cambo Estate, and these releases pay tribute to this area, showcasing the local barley used to make this whisky.
