Staff Tasting Notes

Nose – Quite salty with a lot of rubbery and plum characteristics. A little bit of sweet cream & a touch of rhubarb. Some pork crackling, sauna notes and also newly polished shoes.

Palate – Plenty of peaty/spicy character despite the light texture. This becomes very sticky and tar-like after some time. The saltiness takes over and even resembles Tabasco sauce towards the end.

Finish – Like sitting around a bonfire; long and delicately smoky.

Comments – A pleasingly peaty one with a more unusual nose which only hints at what is to come.

Colour – Copper Gold.

Nose – Rich, fruity sherried smokiness ,lovely balance of phenols, seaweed and light creosote, dried chilli flakes, spicy black pepper with hints of sweet oakiness.

Palate – Powerful rich, sherried, herbal smoky flavours, orange peel, coffee, a touch of sea salt, tobacco and white pepper.

Finish – Long and quite pungent with more smoke, a hint of liquorice and sea spray.
