Michter's Barrel Strength Limited Release is a 2025 release from barrel L25B0316. Pennsylvania was the original birthplace of Michter’s distillery producing the treasured American rye whiskey. Despite a decline in the 20th century which led to it closing its doors in 1989 the well-respected brand was given a new lease on life and is now made in Kentucky. An upfront and single-minded expression, Michter’s US*1 Barrel Strength Rye exemplifies the true character of Kentucky straight rye whiskey, showcasing Michter’s mastery in small-batch whiskey making.

Official Tasting Notes

This single barrel rye is a great example of the fruity and spicy style of old, with its notes of linseed oil, cinnamon, dried cherries and almond. It begins its maturation in charred American oak barrels, contributing to a complex character. The aroma offers up a blend of peppery spice and dried fruits. To indulge your palate there’s richly charred oak, caramelised fruit, vanilla, dark chocolate and a piquant heat. A whiskey highly prized for its deep and daring flavour profile which delivers a profound balance of spice, richness and complexity.
