Based on the remote west coast of Scotland this new, independent distillery has continued the old Scottish tradition of hard to pronounce names and called themselves Nc'Nean. Pronounced 'nc-knee-anne' this is an abbreviation from Neachneohain, the Queen of Spirits from Gaelic legend. The distillery is first fully organic distillery in Scotland and takes all its energy from renewable sources.

Their first experimental product - Botanical Spirit - uses unaged malt spirit re-distilled at Beinn an Tuirc in Kintyre with ten botanicals including wild bog myrtle, sorrel, heather and thyme. Neither whisky, nor gin.
