Official Tasting Notes

Nose – Immediately quite mineral with pebbles and clay. Feels very round on the nose, and a touch of menthol. It’s definitely peated and maritime but it’s not Islay; more like crossing the Kessock Bridge whilst Bairds are firing up the peat kilns. There’s fruit if you look for it, too: burnt lemon peel and some melon skin.

Palate – Very mineral, almost entering the periodic table (iridium?), wet clay slip, whey, white grapes and melon, some lemon drops, too.

Finish – You really notice the length of time in cask on the finish, giving us a pleasant grapefruit rind-like bitterness and some grated nutmeg.
