Distilled at Benrinnes in 2012, this 14 year old Speyside single malt Scotch whisky was matured in refill Oloroso butt number 300165 before being selected and bottled by Adelphi at 58.3% ABV.
Benrinnes is known for producing a rich and substantial style of spirit. Maturation in a refill Oloroso butt allows the weight of the distillate to remain prominent while adding layers of dried fruit, roasted nuts, dark chocolate and warming spice.
Bottled at a powerful strength, this single cask release should offer plenty of concentration and texture. Enjoy it neat to experience its full character, then add a small amount of water to reveal further fruit, sweetness and sherry influence.
A distinctive choice for fans of independently bottled Benrinnes, Oloroso cask maturation and full strength Speyside single malt whisky.
