A bold and youthful Islay single malt from Caol Ila Distillery, bottled by Fib Whisky as the limited From Boston With Love release.
Distilled in 2019 and aged for 7 years, this whisky was matured in a first-fill Pedro Ximénez sherry hogshead, bringing together Caol Ila's distinctive coastal peat smoke with the rich, dark sweetness of PX sherry.
Expect layers of smoky peat, sea spray and charred citrus alongside raisins, dates, dark caramel and rich dried fruit. The first-fill sherry cask adds plenty of weight and sweetness, balanced by Caol Ila's fresh maritime character and a lively peppery edge.
The finish is long, warming and smoky, with lingering dried fruit, dark sweetness and coastal peat. Bottled at a powerful 60.1% ABV, this limited release was drawn from just 139 bottles.
