Balanced, elegant and full of bright fruit, Tormore whisky has always been designed to enjoy, and reflects the warm and welcoming character of Tormore Distillery. Built in 1959, the distillery is considered one of the 'pearls of Speyside'. It's striking buildings are some of the first you come across if you are driving up to Speyside.

Since becoming owners of the Tormore distillery, Elixir distillers have been focused on exploring Tormore's ageing stock, building up to this new range of single malts.

Here is a bit more information from their Distillery Manager Polly Logan:

Over the last three and a half years, we've been working with the casks that we inherited when we acquired the distillery, and they are maturing beautifully. We've really discovered that Tormore sings a beautiful, harmonious song when it's in American oak, and we've spent time and care re-racking and nurturing those aged stocks to set our intention for the future and create our new core range.

Our Team had a fantastic time visiting Tormore Distillery in May of this year. Stuart was blown away by this remarkable distillery: A superb trip to Tormore. A real cathedral of whisky production with that wonderful building design and the concept of the self-contained village surrounding the distillery. The beautiful gardens and communal spaces give such character. Elixir Distillers took over as custodians a couple of years back, and have really excelled in restoring some of the buildings, along with a complete new copper roof.

What stands out is the passion behind all this – in the vision they have for the distillery and the brand, while respecting the distinctive Tormore style of spirit. The new range really delivers at every level, and we can’t wait to see how this evolves.

Stuart's Tormore tasting notes:

Tormore Timeless – fresh, fruity with hints of pears and stone fruits.

Tormore 12 – Lovely balance of fruit, creaminess, and some nutty richness from the Cream Sherry cask element. My favourite from the range.

Tormore 16 – The sherry finish here gives added depth and richness. Dried fruit, vanilla and a lovely mouthfeel.
