First created in 1845 by the Branca family in Milan, Fernet Branca is an Italian bitter liqueur made from 27 different herbs and spices, which are macerated in alcohol and aged in oak for 12 months.
A hospitality favourite for many decades, you will find this being drunk straight in many establishments. It is also often mixed with coca cola, a combination popularised by the liqueur's largest consumers, Argentina.
