Distilled at Glasgow Distillery in 2016, this 10 year old unpeated single malt Scotch whisky was matured in virgin oak hogshead number 845 before being selected and bottled by Adelphi at 58.1% ABV.
The virgin oak has brought a deep and generous character to the spirit. Aromas of juicy orange, cinnamon, red plum and polished wood lead into a rich palate of rum and raisin, caramel, brandy snaps, candied cherry and sweet spice.
The finish is creamy and full, with lingering spiced chocolate and oak. Bottled at a powerful strength, the whisky can be enjoyed neat for maximum richness, while a small amount of water may reveal further fruit and sweetness.
With only 275 bottles produced, this is a distinctive single cask release for fans of Glasgow Distillery, virgin oak maturation and bold Lowland single malt whisky.
