Distilled at Glen Garioch in 2011, this 15 year old Highland single malt Scotch whisky was matured in first fill bourbon barrel number 925 before being selected and bottled by Adelphi at 58.7% ABV.
The nose opens with cream soda, soft lavender, peach skin and fresh pear. The palate brings together unripe mango, golden syrup and cacao nibs, balanced by aromatic shiso leaf and the lively spice of Szechuan peppercorn.
The finish is rounded, engaging and medium in length. Bottled at a powerful strength, this single cask whisky can be enjoyed neat for its full intensity, while a small amount of water may reveal further fruit, sweetness and spice.
Only 225 bottles were produced, making this a limited release for fans of Glen Garioch, first fill bourbon maturation and full strength Highland single malt whisky.
