This limited edition bottling in Glenallachie's Master of Wood series has been fully matured in PX and Oloroso casks that had been part of a sherry solera system for 55 years. The oldest casks in this continuous blending process are prized, and rarely used in whisky maturation, so this is a great opportunity to see their full effect in this 19 year old single malt. The wood influence of solera casks is minor, instead allowing the decades of rich, intense wine maturation to impart on the spirit.

Nose – Brandied plum, intense mocha and honeycomb, with caramel snaps, molassestart and rich cocoa.

Taste – Plum syrup, treacle and warmed heather honey, followed by black cherries,mocha and brandied orchard fruits, with crystalised cinnamon and ginger.
