This unique bottling from Glenfiddich is the first single malt Scotch Whisky that has been finished in ex-Awamori casks from Japan. Awamori is a traditional rice spirit from Okinawa, and is considered to be the oldest alcoholic drink of Japan, and a predecessor of Shochu. The Awamori cask accentuates the Glenfiddich smooth profile and contributes to the mouthfeel while adding fresh herbaceous notes. The name, Yozakura, is derived from Japanese and describes the fleeting beauty of a cherry blossom viewed in the moonlight.
