From Stauning Whisky of Denmark comes this interesting dram. A rye whisky hand crafted with exclusively local ingredients, twice distilled and matured for at least 3 years in new, charred American oak casks. What sets it apart is the 6 month finish in Mezcal casks sourced from Oro de Oaxaca. Part of Stauning's Research series, in which they step away from tradition in favor of a more experimental approach.

Nose – Sweet pipe tobacco smoke, raisins, oat biscuits, citrus, and oak.

Palate – Tobacco, vanilla, barley, dried fruit, cinnamon, brown sugar, molasses, shortbread, and oak.

Finish – Long, sweet, slightly smoky, salty, brown sugar, and pepper.
