A stunningly aged Strathisla from Gordon & Macphail's Private Collection range. Distilled on Saturday 19th December 1953 and matured 65 years in a 1st fill sherry butt before bottling on Monday 14th January 2019. Only 143 bottles were drawn of this incredibly rare dram.

Tasting Notes

Official Tasting Notes

Aroma – Initially cascading aromas of dried fruit and rich sherry. Hints of wood polish and candied fruit combine with an intense note of orange oil. Banking spices- clove, nutmeg, allspice- combine before revealing a subtle menthol edge.

Taste – Initial matgure oak notes open into flavours of autumnal berries: blackberry, blackcurrant, redcurrant and cranberry. Crystallised ginger devolps while traces of dark chocolate add complexity. Aniseed notes remain.

Finish – A delightfully balanced fruit and oak finish; nutty notes underscore a subtle but lingering humidor edge.
