Tasting Notes

Staff Tasting Notes

Nose – Sherbet followed by a damp earthiness. Then sweet vanilla. Gets quite woody as well, like the woodwork room at school. After a while stewed apples and butterscotch. With water – shortbread, grassier than before and icing sugar

Palate – Sweet at first – cookie dough and then ginger biscuits – sweetness gradually gives way to spiciness. Pepper, aniseed – bitter sweet, cooling on the tip of the tongue. Gets sweeter again like white chocolate also grassy. Very long finish. With water similar but softer, spiciness much more restrained, grass, apples.

Comments – Great whisky! A firm staff favourite and a greatintroduction to Japanese whisky. Tasted by London shop staff
