Distilled at Blair Athol in 2013, this 12 year old Highland single malt Scotch whisky was matured in first fill bourbon barrel number 310751 before being selected and bottled by Adelphi at 58.3% ABV.
Blair Athol is known for producing a rich and substantial style of spirit. Maturation in a first fill bourbon barrel should complement that character with layers of vanilla, honey, orchard fruit and warming spice, while allowing the weight of the distillate to remain at the centre of the whisky.
Bottled at a powerful strength, this single cask release offers plenty of concentration and texture. It can be enjoyed neat for its full intensity, while a small amount of water may reveal further sweetness, fruit and oak influence.
