Distilled at GlenWyvis in 2018, this seven year old Highland single malt Scotch whisky has been finished in an Oloroso sherry cask before being selected and bottled by Berry Bros. & Rudd at a robust 58.1% ABV.

The Oloroso finish adds a richer, darker dimension to GlenWyvis’ youthful and characterful spirit. Dried fruit, warming spice and sherry sweetness meet fresh malt and a lively Highland character, creating a powerful whisky with plenty to explore.

Part of Berry Bros. & Rudd’s The Auld & The Bold collection, this release celebrates the distinctive personality that can be found in younger whisky when spirit and cask work particularly well together. Its generous strength delivers plenty of intensity neat, while a few drops of water should help open up the fruit and spice.

The nose opens with a medley of dried fruits, lifted by a cool whisper of menthol. On the palate, waves of dark chocolate intertwine with bright orange peel and the crunch of roasted nuts, all anchored by Glen Wyvis’ signature clean, cereal backbone. The cask has imparted fine-grained tannins to the dram, that frame the flavours, adding structure without veering into austerity. The finish lingers, carrying spiced fruits and a delicate dusting of cocoa.
