This elegant and refined expression of St Magdalene was bottled to commemorate 100 years of Elgin wine and spirits merchants, the original independent bottlers, Gordon & MacPhail. The spirit was distilled in 1980 at the sizeable Linlithgow distillery , just three years before it would close in the DCL distillery cull of 1983, and bottled in 1995, by which time the distillery itself had been converted into residential flats. The pagoda roof of the original maltings is preserved to this day.
