Springbank Distillery has always been one for doing things the traditional way, never mind the cost. Floor malting, bottling all done on site. No chill filtering, no colouring. Longrow was originally created by the chairman of the distillery, to prove that they could produce a whisky that could match the Islay drams in terms of peatiness and smokiness.
This heavily peated dram is now part of their core range. However like all products from Springbank, such is the demand it is only released in very limited quantities throughout the year.
