Created by Morrison Scotch Whisky Distillers, this mystery single malt from Islay is named Strata - to represent the rocks of the island which support the distilleries of Islay and the Morrison family's close connection to them, as well as the layered complexity of the dram. It has been matured for 15 years before bottling, lending a rich sherried fruit and winter spice note to the whisky, with a seaside salility contrasting well and a deep, earthy smoking-barley flavour beneath.

Staff Tasting Notes

Nose – Soft ashy, pears, aples and grassy bonfires. After a while, biscuits and oatcakes emerge.

Palate – Sweet fruit, drizzled with caramel and honey, then chewy peat and woodspice.

Finish – Long ashy finish with creamy peat and brine appearing.

Palate – Velvety texture with earthy peat and winter spices. Rich and warm with a lovely smoky finish.
